Hot Tub For Sale

NEW LOWER PRICE!

Several years ago we bought a top-of-the-line HotSprings Spa and enjoyed it for a couple of years until I got lung problems and when checked out at the Iowa Lung Clinic, I was diagnosed with COPD, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease which is like emphysema. I would have serious situations where it was difficult to get my breath. My doctor suspected it might be triggered by the hot tub and suggested we drain it for quite some time until my breathing was stabilized and then try it again. After doing this, we filled it and tried it again, and I was triggered with breathing problems again. After another lengthy period of draining the tub, we tried it again with a different set of chemicals, but my breathing problems were triggered again. Since its only use to us now is as a big counter and work table for mounting and framing photographs, it occurred to us that this was an expensive table. It could be replaced with a real table and someone else could be enjoying a very nice Hot Tub for a very low cost compared to the retail cost of such spas now. This is why it is for sale. Here is what it looks like. Click on photo to see it larger, then use the Back Button on your browser to return here.

This view shows that it is indoors and protected from natural weather elements, so is in excellent condition. It comes with a cover that is folded back over the bar on the right side, then pulled back and down at the end of the tub. The steps shown in front also come with the spa.

The cover stands at the end of the tub held in place with chains between the tub and the bars holding the cover. One person can do this quite easily.

This view shows the filter compartment on the upper left, a mood light near the bottom in the center and the drain on the bottom. On the right is a "chaise lounge" with a neck messaging pillow that pulses with a jet in your back. Be careful, you just may fall asleep in this position it is so relaxing.

Moving around to the left you see the curved bench to the left of the overflow into the filter chamber. There are several different configurations of jets with different relaxing actions as you work around the tub counter clockwise.

More jets come in view as we move clockwise around the spa.

Still moving around the spa one of my favorite spots is located in the corner. You sit in the chaise lounge with your back leaning on the vertical series of jets. These jets oscillate up and down your spine while the four horizontal jets above the others massage your shoulders. You will have to draw lots to see who gets that position first. Beside the chaise lounge near the bottom is a jet that massages your feet when you are on the other side of the tub. This is really great for tired feet after being on them all day. At the top of the left side are various controls to adjust the jets in various places for the amount of power in the jet you want. Also hanging down that side is a thermometer to use to check the temperature of the water.

This is the main control panel on the front of the spa. With it you can set the temperature you want maintained, the intensity of the mood light that is in the tub, and each set of jets; there are two sets which can be operated independently.

This is the Landmark Model S Spa which is 8'5" by 7'7" and 36" high. The effective filter area is 150 square feet. The heater is 6,000 watts. The water capacity is 425 gallons and weighs filled, 5,235 pounds. Empty it weighs 785 pounds. The dead weight is 110 pounds per square foot. The floor we had built to support it is 2x12's on 12" centers, not 16". Electrical requirements are 230 volt, 50 amp single phase GFCI protected circuit.

The spa will be available when we can get a construction crew to remove it from our View Room. Several strong people and a fork lift to get it down from our balcony will be needed. It will be available from our driveway. Transportation and installing will be your responsibility. We can wait for your preparation of where it will be set. If you would like to see the owner's manual with installation instructions, you are welcome to come over to see it.

A comparable model spa today costs $10,000+. This particular model is discontinued as they make newer models available. We are asking $4,499 [New Lower Price] OBO which is about half the price of a new one. It was installed new in the spring of 1999 and has always been indoors protected from the weather, so it is in excellent condition. It has not been in use for about three years, so the wear and tear is minimal. This will make a fine spa for a family. The tub will hold six people, however we found that if you have six in it, the water level should be lowered or there will be overflow when moving about. Four people works great and with children, there can be more as the water displacement is not as great as for adults.
